The Pierre Oteiza company is located in the picturesque Aldudes Valley in the heart of the Basque country in south west France.
Pierre Oteiza, breeder and artisan producer, created his company in 1987 with the aim of breeding the'Pie Noir 'Basque pig, which at that time was becoming extinct. |

| 1987 | The company is started by Pierre and Catherine Oteiza. Its aim was to work with local breeders and producers to sell and promote high quality products. | | 1989 | The company presents its Basque pork products for the first time at the Salon d’Agriculture in Paris. Pierre Oteiza becomes the driving force in the promotion of the Aldudes Valley | | 1992 | The first premises are built. The building conforms to all the European norms and regulations. | | 2000 | The first Aldudes Valley collective drying room is built. | | 2004 | Expansion of the work areas. | | 2007 | The company celebrates its 20th anniversary. | |

From the beginning the company has strived to develop its commercial knowledge by working closely with its customers through : - its 10 shops (click on the Our Shops tab),
- via direct mail selling and the internet which has taken awareness of our company beyond the Aldudes Valley,
- national fairs and Basque buffets,
- its loyal partners who have made us known outside France.
The company employs around 40 people of which 20 work in Les Aldudes.
The company proudly promotes its heritage, tradition and values.
